What kinds of gifts do people make?
We receive gifts from $15 to $30,000 each year. Everyone chooses an amount that is meaningful for them, and each gift is powerful.

I can't make a large gift - why should I bother at all?
Because a gift of any size has a tremendous impact. There are a lot of people paying attention to participation in the Annual Fund First: lead donors and volunteers, prospective families, teachers and administrators all look to annual giving as a way of measuring how invested the Pinewood community is in our school.

How is the Annual Fund First different from the Benefit Events?

The Annual Fund First (AFF) and the Benefit Auction both provide critical operating support for Pinewood, but they play slightly different roles in the community. The AFF is the foundation of philanthropy at Pinewood - the largest and most broad-based fundraising effort each year. Participation in the AFF is also frequently used as a benchmark measurement of a community’s strength, making support at any level especially powerful – and our top priority.

The Benefit Auction and The Pinewood Golf Tournament (held on alternate years) are sister campaigns to the AFF, and present a wider range of opportunities for involvement and support – from becoming an individual sponsor to securing corporate sponsorships, donating auction items, or volunteering to help organize the events. They are celebratory, community-wide events, and anyone interested in engaging further with the school is encouraged to participate.

Volunteers make a meaningful difference at Pinewood School. Your gift of time and talent is vital to our community and it also allows you a chance to meet fellow parents, students and staff. Depending on your availability and interests, there are countless ways to volunteer; parents can help plan events or assist during the activities.

Grade Level Representatives (GLRs)

The representatives coordinate our parent volunteers and also meet regularly with the administration to facilitate the flow of information between the school and the parent community.

Grade Level Representatives contact Pinewood parents at the beginning of the academic year. Your GLR can help you get plugged in as a volunteer. If you have questions about this process, please email communications@pinewood.edu.

Annual Fund First Ambassadors

The ambassadors play a vital role in educating parents about the importance of supporting the Annual Fund First. In addition to making their own gifts, they encourage and promote both leadership and participation.

If you are interested in becoming an Annual Fund First Ambassador, please email development@pinewood.edu.
