2019 Spring Break Service Trip to Thailand

Yesterday, thirty-two Upper Campus students and four Pinewood faculty/staff members returned safely home from their Spring Break service trip to Thailand. Over the ten-day trip, the group served at the Sappraiwan Elephant Conservation Center in Phitsanulok and at the Ricefields Service Base in Udon Thani. Their time was spent caring for elephants, working a school construction project, preparing and delivering meals to the needy, participating in English-language activities with local students, teaching swim lessons, and more. The group also got to participate in a Muay Thai boxing lesson! We'll be sharing photos and more about this special time of service very soon.

At Pinewood, we encourage our students to become active members of their local and global community. Through educational travel and service learning, students learn to engage with clarity and sensitivity, ultimately demonstrating cross-cultural awareness, understanding, and compassion. Learn more >>
