Each year, Pinewood parents, faculty, staff and board members get together to celebrate the end of the school year at the Annual Community Benefit. This event is an opportunity to spend quality time with other members of the community, enjoy a great meal and drinks, and dress up in the theme (if you'd like!).

In addition to being a community celebration, this event is also a fundraiser. A live auction raises money for Pinewood teachers and staff to participate in professional development opportunities during the year. You can see details about some of the workshops and programs our teachers and staff participated in our weekly Community Benefit communications. 

This year, the event will take place on Saturday, April 18th • 5:30-11:00 pm at Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club. 

Tickets go on sale January 21st. 

The Annual Community Benefit is Pinewood’s most highly attended adult-only event. It brings together parents from all three campuses, in addition to teachers and administrators. It is a great chance to meet with parents who have children in other grades, as well as spend time with the teachers and staff. It is also a fun evening with delicious food and premium wine. 

The first hour of the evening is a cocktail reception, where you will enjoy wine, cocktails, and appetizers while mingling with friends. There will be photo booths for you to take photos to remember the night. The second part of the evening is a sit-down dinner and live auction. During Fund-A-Need, attendees will have an opportunity to hear from Pinewood President and Head of School, Scott Riches, faculty members, and the parent community. 

All tickets must be purchased by the deadline. Unfortunately, due to advance notice requirements by the venue, we are unable to sell tickets at the door. 

Yes! While the Community Benefit is a fundraiser for the school that raises money for teachers and staff to participate in learning throughout the year, the evening is a social event and an opportunity to see your friends. There is no obligation to donate while you attend the event. All donations made during the evening are purely voluntary and a result of the generosity of our parent community. 

Absolutely! Guests will be seated at tables of 10. To be seated with a certain group, each person should specify all people in their group at the time the tickets are purchased. Do this by clicking on the “Special Request” link in the menu on the auction ticket website. Due to the logistics of 10-person tables, we may not be able to honor all seating requests fully. We will try our best to seat you with some or all of your group. Please send seating questions to events@pinewood.edu 

Like many other fields, education is ever-changing. Teachers’ tools and techniques evolve as more and more research becomes available. In order to stay current on the most recent best practices, great teachers like the ones at Pinewood are committed to learning and growing. A strong professional development program provides the funds needed for our teachers and staff to participate in learning opportunities – from multi-day workshops to one-day sessions with experts and peers from other schools. Last year, 100% of Pinewood teachers participated in one or more professional development offerings. 

You can! You do not have to attend to participate in the silent auction. This part of the event is open to our entire community and does not require attendance at the Benefit.
