Summer Camps • June and August 2024

These programs emphasize fun, learning, and engaging new experiences: ingredients for an enriching summer. Through individual and group activities, students will experience the spirit of adventure while developing individual skills and self-confidence. Our program has something for everyone! Explore our camp options below.

To register for a camp, please fill out one registration form per camp, per camper. Your registration is complete when you hand in your form to the main office and submit payment for your camp using the payment method listed in our online camp descriptions. Questions? Cancellations and Refunds

If you need to cancel your child's registration, please contact your camp director directly. Please be aware of our new cancellation and refund policies:

Cancellations made on or before March 31 will receive a full refund minus a $100 fee. PayPal fees, if applicable, will also be subtracted from the refund amount.
Cancellations made on or between April 1 and April 30 will receive a 50% refund. PayPal fees, if applicable, will also be subtracted from the refund amount.
No refunds will be provided for cancellations made on or after May 1.

Creative Kids Summer Fun • Grades 1–3 (as of fall 2024)

Creative Kids Summer Fun will include theatre games, singing, dancing, field games and arts and crafts. Students will build skills in literacy, collaboration, and creativity through fun activities. Get moving and play with friends, come have fun with Mrs. Danzig and Mrs. Fuentes!

Science and Spanish Fun • Grades 1–3 (as of fall 2024)

By focusing each day on a different theme, we will conduct science experiments, activities, and create crafts using nature. We will also learn to play card, dice, board, and outdoor games learning and practicing Spanish in a relaxed and fun setting. We will also get to build our own farm with animals and all.

Join Ria Walker for a week of excitement and fun. Come to All-Sports Camp for a week filled with everything from daily competitions, recreational games, and fun-filled days in the sun. This camp features something for everyone: individual skill development, team sports, afternoon water games, our world-famous slip-n-slide, and the legendary scavenger hunt and talent show! This week is an absolute must if you're looking for fun!

Tutored Art Camp 1 • Grades 4–7 (as of fall 2024)

The focus of this camp is to inspire students to continue exploring different mediums and fundamental art skills and techniques. We will be drawing, painting, animating, designing, and discussing ART. Through a rich variety in mediums and approaches, all demonstrated live in the classroom and with individual guidance and assistance from Prof. Beverleigh and Prof. Clapp. Students will take a portfolio home at the end of each week with artwork created in class as well as progress and fun photos from the art room. This camp will be offered from June 3-7 and 10-14 and each camp requires a separate registration. Both weeks will focus on an assortment of drawing techniques, special presentations, individual demonstrations, animation, painting techniques with various mediums and games. We will also have some activities outdoors. Students will explore on their own as well and execute a 3D project of their choice using all resources from the art room.

BLAST! Full BLAST! • Grades 1–3 (as of fall 2024)

THIS is THE ONE! The kids’ all-time favorite! Join Mr. Slayton (Pinewood’s K-2 PE teacher) for the one and only Full BLAST! Camp. It's the ultimate kids’ camp. Each day starts with a BLAST! of modified sports, games, cool crafts, game rooms, and STEAM. After lunch, it’s fun in the sun featuring water play with our super soakers, water games, and Mr. Slayton’s classic “haircuts.” We cap off the week with a pizza party, the ice cream man, and our legendary GIANT water slide! Turn your Summer on FULL BLAST!!

Dance! Dance! Dance! • Grades 4–7 (as of fall 2024)

Come join Carrie McRobbie and her talented daughter Mira Spendlove for a dance camp that has ALL the things! We will be learning technique and teaching fun, stylized combinations in hip hop, jazz and contemporary dance. Both instructors have several years of teaching experience and have toured the country teaching and performing.

Students will also have the opportunity to work together to create their own dance combinations , that will be shared in a showcase on our last day!

Pinewood Summer Shooting Clinic • Grades 4–12 (as of fall 2024)

Welcome to the Pinewood Summer Shooting Clinic, taught by Head Coach Doc Scheppler and staff. Doc and his staff are excited to host this summer shooting clinic for all incoming 4th-12th graders! Doc Scheppler, legendary girls' basketball coach at Pinewood High School in Los Altos, CA, has won over 700 plus games, and he possesses an uncanny ability to make the game fun and create an incredible atmosphere of togetherness and joy for the game. Doc is a 6x Division V California State Champion and 2014 State Coach of the Year. He has 40-plus years of high school coaching experience and is the shooting coach for Jeremy Lin. What better way to spend your summer than in the gym, learning to become a better shooter? Shooting is arguably the most important skill and is currently the most popular skill in basketball today. The Pinewood Summer Shooting Clinic will guarantee players to become better shooters after one week of 10-hour instruction and repetition. Doc and his staff are excited to coach hard-working players who share the same joy for the game as we do. Participants will work on the fundamentals of softball including batting, fielding, leadership and teamwork. There will also be conditioning drills to work on physical fitness. Each day will conclude with a scrimmage game where players are able to apply what they have learned.

FUN with WATER GAMES and CRAFTS at KIENE CAMP! Come join in on some SUMMER FUN as we play water games and make awesome crafts, like tie-dye t-shirts, slime and more! Upper Campus Preparation Workshop • Grades 7–9 (as of fall 2024)

This one-day workshop is designed for new Upper Campus students in grades 7, 8, and 9 (those coming from Middle Campus as well as students who have recently been admitted to Pinewood) to help them get acclimated to our school and expectations. We focus on how to make the most out of Upper Campus, and we also discuss executive functioning skills that boost academic success, such as organization, planning, and emotional self-regulation.
