Dear Summer Festival of Learning Kindergarten Parents,
We have been working diligently to create a unique, on-campus summer program that will follow county educational and recreational regulations. Students will continue to have specialized teachers, a variety of class offerings, and small classes for all courses. With this new schedule and under current circumstances, we can only offer a TWO WEEK program for Kindergarten at this time. Student schedules will be emailed mid to end of June.
Our on-campus model, Plan A, will follow these guidelines for the morning program:
- students will be in a stable group of 12 or fewer children
- each group will be in a separate room and work in that space for most of the morning except for outdoor and theater activities
- groups will not mix with each other in any space, outdoor or indoor
- students in a group of 12 or fewer (Track 1) will be taught by the same teachers who teach one other group 12 or fewer (Track 2)
The first three guidelines follow the current regulations issued by the county. The 4th guideline is in place with the hope that regulations will ease by July, and we can offer Plan A.
Below is a sample of Plan A that illustrates two separate groups (Track 1 and Track 2). Each teacher is represented by a different color. As for the afternoon program, we are still working on the details, but our hope is that the two-tracks could merge if enough students in the two tracks are not registered for the afternoon program. We will make sure to have all expert-guided safety precautions and procedures in place, and procedures and guidelines will be communicated in advance to parents, students, and staff.
