Dates + Deadlines

• Applications are due by January 10, 2021.
• One teacher recommendation is required by January 10, 2021.
• Admissions decision notifications are sent March 18, 2021.

Evaluations

• The scheduling of your child's kindergarten online evaluation is part of the application process. You can schedule your child's online evaluation after you have uploaded your student's photo, completed the parent questionnaire, and completed the student and demographic information sections of the online application.
• Online evaluations take place on either January 15th or January 22nd, 2021.

Details

• Your child must be 5-years-old by September 1, 2021 to enter.
• Online evaluations will last 45 minutes, in groups of 4 students.
• The kindergarten class is forty-eight students divided into six groups of five to eight students per group.
• Our online parent information event is optional.

Testing

• Testing for all 1st- and 2nd-grade applicants will take place on either February 5th or February 12th, 2021.
• 1st and 2nd grade evaluations will take approximately 30 minutes. These evaluations will be conducted one-on-one with Pinewood teachers via Zoom. 
• The scheduling of your child's 1st and/or 2nd-grade online evaluation is part of the application process. You can schedule your child's online evaluation through the application portal after you have uploaded your student's photo, completed the parent questionnaire, and completed the student and demographic information sections of the online application.
• Testing for all 3rd- and 4th-grade applicants will be waived for the 2021-22 admissions season.

Grade 3 + 4 Online Student Interview

• The scheduling of your child's online interview is part of the application process. You can schedule your child's online interview after you have uploaded your student's photo, completed the parent questionnaire, and completed the student and demographic information sections of the online application.
• Online interviews are for Grades 3 + 4 only.
• Our online parent information event is optional.

Admissions Testing

Because of the uncertainty presented by the pandemic, and as part of our commitment of equity for all applicants, Pinewood will not require standardized testing for Fall 2021 admission.

If students have taken or will take the ISEE or SSAT and wish to submit their scores, they may. We will also accept any other standardized testing a student has taken in the past two years. We want to emphasize that applicants who do not submit test scores will not be disadvantaged in any way in our admissions process. If you would like to submit any scores, Pinewood's school code is 051512.
