Marianne Griffiths

K-12 Learning Specialist
Lower Campus, Middle Campus, Upper Campus

Marianne has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Science and Health from the University of Utah and completed her Mild/Moderate Special Education studies at Utah State University. She has worked in education off and on for nearly twenty years in a variety of settings and roles. Some of her favorites include being an instructional coach, an academic and behavior intervention specialist, a language arts specialist, an academic tutor, and a service learning coordinator. She and her husband Rex moved to the area this June to join the Pinewood community and to be closer to their sons. Their older two sons attend college at Stanford and USC respectively, and their youngest son will be a junior at Los Altos High School this fall. Marianne and her family love to travel and keep their bags packed all summer ready to head off for an adventure at a moment’s notice. Marianne's approach to education is centered around the belief that more than anything, kids want to feel capable. Students find their capabilities when they are taught how to learn not just what to learn. Her goal is to help students to become engaged, mindful, confident learners who will feel prepared to go out and be contributing citizens of the world.
