Leila Beverleigh

Art (3–6)
Middle Campus

Ms. Beverleigh was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and was raised by artistic parents. She studied at San Jose State University and earned a BFA in Animation/Illustration. With traditional and digital backgrounds, she worked as a digital background painter and as a post-production artist. She furthered her education as an illustrator at the University of Hartford with an MFA in Illustration, worked with legendary professionals in the field. Her freelance work in illustration receives great inspiration by studying, photographing and painting dancers. Today, Ms. Beverleigh fires her imagination and focuses her work primarily towards the art of dance. During these many years of field research, she has made many connections and friends among the ballet world as she highlights their truth and strength. In her free time she is an avid museum, theatre, and performing arts attendee. She loves long hikes, plein air painting, and especially spending time in her private studio. “Teaching keeps me going. There is no greater reward than passing forward knowledge and seeing the students’ excitement exploring art themselves and witnessing their own awakening to new possibilities.”
