Ann has a deep love of teaching inspired by many of her childhood teachers. She graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. She worked in the Evergreen School District for fifteen years teaching third- to sixth-grades. In Evergreen, Ann was honored as a District Mentor teacher for her sixth-grade social studies program. In 1991, Ann moved to Booksin School in the San Jose Unified School District where she taught second- to fifth-grades. She coordinated Booksin's many community service projects. Ann was honored as the Booksin Teacher of the Year in 2008. Throughout her career, Ann has been very involved in school leadership and new teacher training. She loves being part of the Pinewood family. Ann and her husband, Robert, have two adult children, Kelly and Daniel. She enjoys reading, traveling, and creating stained glass.
