Bill Bates is a career educator with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stonehill College. He is very familiar with Pinewood School having introduced technology education into the curriculum in the early 90's. During his tenure at Pinewood, Mr. Bates was the Director of Computer Science, Director of IT, Director of College Counseling, and the Varsity Baseball coach. After leaving Pinewood in 2000, he spent a decade managing worldwide technology education departments for DataCore Software and Juniper Networks. Working with youth has always been a passion of his and he left the corporate world to work for the Boy Scouts of America for two years. He rejoined the Pinewood family as Technology Curriculum Coordinator in 2013 and could not be happier! He is currently responsible for training, modeling, and supporting K-12 students and teachers in the integration of technology into the curriculum in order to improve student achievement, engagement and enhance learning outcomes. Mr. Bates is a member of the Association of Computer Machinery (ACM), the Computer Science Teacher's Association (CSTA), and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
