Monica Ventrice holds a B.S. in Marine Science from Cal State Hayward & Moss Landing Marine Laboratories and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential, Biology, Life Sciences, & Geology from San Jose State University. She has field experience in catch-and-release methods, scientific diving, and survey sampling. Prior to working at Pinewood, Ms. Ventrice taught Biology, Forensics, and Anatomy in public school. She is passionate about teaching and hopes to inspire her students to love science. Students in her classes are exposed to many labs throughout the year, including those related to cell structure, protein synthesis, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, genetics, ecology, biodiversity, evolution, and more. In her free time, Ms. Ventrice likes to be outdoors. She enjoys hunting mushrooms, going to the beach, hiking, and spending time with her animals and family.
