Elaina Tyson holds a B.S. in Elementary Education: Emphasis Math and Science 5-8 Grades from Cumberland University, Tennessee and a M.S. and Ed. S. in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University. 
 Prior to moving back to the Bay Area in 2007, Ms. Tyson taught in the Tennessee public school system at Satterfield Middle School for eleven years. While there, she taught 6th and 7th grade Science, 7th & 8th grade Physical Education, and 7th grade Literature. She was also the winner of the "Teacher of the Year" award in 2004 and 2007, the Student Government Advisor, worked with the 6th-8th grade Class Officers, and was a CARE Program Advisor working with at-risk youths on a weekly basis. Ms. Tyson has been teaching 7th grade Life Science and 8th grade Earth Science since joining Pinewood in 2007. She is also the Junior High Activities Advisor and coaches the Junior High Cross Country and Junior High Track teams during the school year.
