Bullfighter, dramaturge, flamenco dancer, passionate teacher, Aurora Collantes is the Spanish teacher of exceptional students at Pinewood School. Originally from Spain, she grew up in Madrid and attended the University Complutense of Madrid (UCM), where she received her B.A. in Sociology and her M.A. in Social Psychology. She also holds the teaching credentials to instruct middle and high school classes from the Instituto Ciencias de la Educacion in Madrid, Spain. She began her career teaching K-8 Spanish at a Montessori-based school and during that time earned her Montessori Education Certification. She has been educating at Pinewood since 2008, where she established the elementary Spanish program. She truly enjoys immersing children in a foreign language and culture. Her teaching philosophy is based on creating a close connection between language and art through movement and action. Educating world citizens is her zeal!
