Melissa graduated from the University of California at Davis with a B.S. in Managerial Economics thinking she would be chasing her dreams in the Silicon Valley tech industry. After several jobs in various sectors (merchandising, tech, non-profit), she found herself most compelled by the stories of others. Melissa decided to pursue learning about human connection and earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. She spent seven years gaining relevant experience with K-12 students at a local school district and is now a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Melissa loves fostering creative expression and play to help children gain a better understanding of their inner and outer emotional world.
She also loves spending time curating new house plants, writing, outdoor adventures, and appreciating all things music with her husband, kids, and cat.
