Lejla Hodzic, Class of 2004
It was good to see Lejla Hodzic back on campus to receive her award. Lejla was one of the top ranked tennis players in the nation during her time at Pinewood. At Pinewood she was a four-year team MVP, CCS Individual finalist in 2000 and 2001, and a three-year All-American. In 2000 Lejla was ranked #1 nationally in the girls under 14 division, and in 2002 was ranked the top 10 nationally in the girls under 18 division. She was also the 2004 recipient of the prestigious Lynn Riches Award at Pinewood. This award is given annually to the senior student-athletic that represents superiority in athletics, academics, citizenship and personal integrity. After graduating Pinewood in 2004, Lejla went to Stanford University on a full athletic scholarship where she was a member of the varsity tennis team. At Stanford she was a member of the 2-time NCCA Championship Team and four-time PAC-10 Champions. Lejla graduated from Stanford in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. After working for a few start-up companies in the bay area, she is now a tennis teaching pro working for Stanford University out of a private club.
