Athletics

Pinewood School encourages all students (grades 4-12) to participate in campus athletics by offering a well-rounded program. Our mission is to provide competitive opportunities that emphasize the lifelong values of sportsmanship, individual effort, teamwork, dedication, and integrity.

While improving physical condition is an important goal, the lessons learned in this endeavor help develop leadership and negotiating skills, and cooperation. The students also gain a strong sense of fair play, ethical behavior, and loyalty to their teams, school, and community.

Interscholastic athletics is a voluntary program. The coaches at Pinewood welcome players of all abilities and value a combination of dedication and skill. At the junior high school level, all students have the chance to become a member of a sports team. Historically, 85% of the students are members of a variety of teams. High school students may try out for specific teams, with 70% of the students participating in a broad range of activities. Highly competitive in league play, our teams have won division and state championships in several sports.
