Academics
Grades K-6
Pinewood's comprehensive program provides a solid foundation in the language arts, mathematics, and science. In addition to the core subjects, our curriculum also includes history, French, physical education, music, art, and drama. A low student to teacher ratio helps ensure that optimum attention can be given to each student's needs.
The academic classes are departmentalized, assuring that each subject is taught by trained teachers who have a love for their particular subject. The dedicated faculty uses a blend of traditional and innovative approaches that allow every student the ability to fully experience the wonder and power of each subject.

Grades 7-12
At the junior high and senior high school levels, students continue to receive extensive instruction in the areas of literature and writing, mathematics, and laboratory science. Additional coursework in the social sciences, history, modern languages, art, music, drama, physical education, computer science, and communication is offered at all levels. A wide variety of electives and Advanced Placement and Honors courses are available to students in high school.
Historically, one hundred percent of Pinewood graduates matriculate to a diverse group of colleges and universities. Our standard curriculum path is designed to surpass the minimum course requirements for admission to these highly selective schools and has been certified by the University of California.
Pinewood School Upper Campus is a member of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and was awarded one of the highest ratings possible. During the WASC committee's visit, they commended Pinewood for an overall excellent reputation, high-standardized test scores, an exemplary college admissions record, and the success of its graduates in higher educational pursuits.
