In 1992, Bill Clinton and Al Gore displace George Bush, Sr., and Dan Quayle in the White House; riots erupt in Los Angeles after four police officers are acquitted in the Rodney King trial; Stefi Graf and Andre Agassi win Wimbledon; CD sales surpass cassette tapes for the first time; Johnny Carson retires from The Tonight Show; and Pinewood graduates the class of 1992.

In 2002, George W. Bush creates the Department of Homeland Security; the United States commences military action in Afghanistan; Kenneth Lay resigns from bankrupt Enron; Jimmy Carter wins the Nobel Peace Prize; the Winter Olympics are held in Salt Lake City; The Osbournes debuts on MTV; Spider-Man tops the box office; and Pinewood graduates the Class of 2002.
Thanks to the generosity of this year’s donors, $154,163 has been raised this school year for the Pinewood Annual Fund. Whether it is supporting our classrooms and campus, teachers, the tools of teaching, or students, the Annual Fund has a direct impact on the quality of Pinewood's programs.

Boys Varsity Basketball 2012 CCS Champions!
"Pinewood made some history by winning the Division V championship for a second straight year with a 74-57 triumph over No. 2 seed St. Francis-Central Coast Catholic on Saturday at Santa Clara University's Leavey Center. (excerpt is courtesy of Palo Alto News online)
CIF State Basketball Championships
March 7th at 7:00pm Round I, Upper Campus Pinewood Girls (#5 seed in Northern California) vs. San Domenico (#12 seed)
March 10th at 7:00pm Round II, Upper Campus Pinewood Boys (#2 seed) vs. winner of Round I
Depending on the outcome of the girls' game on Wednesday, they may also play today - time/venue TBD.

Lejla Hodzic, Class of 2004
It was good to see Lejla Hodzic back on campus to receive her award. Lejla was one of the top ranked tennis players in the nation during her time at Pinewood. In 2000, Lejla was ranked #1 nationally in the girls under 14 division, and in 2002 was ranked the top 10 nationally in the girls under 18 division.. . After graduating Pinewood in 2004, Lejla went to Stanford University on a full athletic scholarship where she was a member of the varsity tennis team. Read more.
