Freshman Makes Literary Waves

Sarah Feng is an accomplished, disciplined writer in her own right. As a freshman in high school, she has already written and self-published two novels (with a third on the way)! In addition to Sarah's personal achievements, we are proud to report on her recent public awards and recognitions.

Sarah recently won two regional prizes in the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. She received two Honorable Mention recognitions for her short story Amavi and her flash fiction piece Tenebrism.

Sarah has also won an honorable mention for one of her poems in the California Coastal Commission's 2017 Coastal Art & Poetry Contest. There were more than 2,700 entries into the contest this year, with ten winners and forty-one honorable mentions. Sarah's poem will be included in the first traveling exhibit location at Point Reyes National Seashore in May and June. It will also be featured in Chapman University's online journal through their Tabula Poetica program.

We are so proud of your accomplishments, Sarah!
